Last time, this Broward County auto tag agency overloaded you with information on your car’s computer-based On-board Diagnostic (OBD) system. Now that you’ve (hopefully) had a chance to diagnose that pesky Check Engine light, what does the series of numbers and letters mean?

If you’re not sure what we’re talking about, go ahead and read our last blog:

Once you’ve identified your codes, go ahead and do some online research. Many of these codes are diagnosable through forums, but presenting the code to the mechanic or dealership should help you get that diagnostic fee waived, in addition to making you look like you know something when you speak to a new mechanic.
