Whether you’ve already purchased a boat or are thinking about buying one, there’s no doubt that many of the beautiful destinations between Miami, West Palm, and Sarasota can be viewed and appreciated best by the water.

So, we’ve compiled this list for our clients who have recently completed a Fort Lauderdale boat tag registration or are thinking about purchasing a new vessel.

Top Boating Destinations in Florida

Fort Lauderdale: the Venice of America

Locals have heard it a thousand times - Fort Lauderale is the “Venice of America”. The reality is, we have an unusually large Intracoastal Waterway and canal access from many homes. It’s a great way to explore the city. You can stop at many restaurants in the area by boat, and enjoy local flavors. You can even go north to Boca Beach, or cruise south to Miami in about as much time it will take you in traffic.

The Florida Keys

Do you want to experience real islander lifestyle in your new boat? Head to the Keys. You don’t have to go to the Southernmost Point - you can just stop at Key Largo for a resort experience. Enjoy the clear waters and view the unusual scrub that only occupies the keys.

Dry Tortugas National Park

Want a super exclusive place that you can only get to by boat or seaplane? Dry Tortugas is the way to go - especially for snorkeling lovers. The coral reefs are intact and beautiful, and you can visit Fort Jefferson as well.

The Everglades

Most Americans think of the Everglades when they think of Florida - it’s such a unique destination. The swamp is expansive and full of wildlife - an extreme experience for visitors and locals alike. Water leaving Lake Okeechobee flows south, and during the wet season it spans for 60 miles and extends over 100 miles long.

Palm Beach County

In the Palm Beach area, you have so many choices. Singer Island is a great option that is usually not too crowded, and you can fish or boat easily off the coast of Jupiter or Boca Raton. Stop at Boca Beach and enjoy the local company on the local sandbar!
